Henry County Humane Society
The Henry County Humane Society - Geneseo is a small, No-Kill Animal Shelter in western Illinois farm country. Our Humane Society is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit agency located at 14606 Roos Hill Road in Geneseo, Illinois, and is operated on donations from the public. All donations go directly to help with care of our animals while we look for a permanent home for them.
Our adoption fees are $50.00 for cats and kittens, $75.00 for dogs, and $100.00 for puppies. This fee includes all up to date vet work, spaying/neutering, microchipping and any other needed treatments. All animal adoptions have a contract to cover areas of care, health, return policy, and responsibility.

Blackjacky was found alone and lonely by a kind mother and daughter. They managed to catch her and bring her to our shelter. Blackjacky celebrated her first birthday at our shelter. Shortly thereafter, she suffered a bout with mouth ulcers. She is now totally recuperated and more than ready to find a quiet, refined home in which to spend her second and all future years.

Carolyn is an adult cat, 2-3 years old, who showed up at one of our volunteer’s home. She's a very sweet cat who loves to have her tummy rubbed. Carolyn is very vocal and likes to have conversations with you.

Sweet Yamaha was released to us from the Geneseo City Pound. Her beautiful coat was so matted that part of her updating vet work was getting shaved. Rudy is a big and lovable fellow. He is a 6 year old Rottweiler/Black Lab mix who is capable of calm cuddle sessions as well as excitable puppy-like moments. He has lived at our shelter since March 2010 and made incredible progress with acceptable dog behaviors like meeting new people and dogs, and walking on a leash. He would adore the special companion that would give him the attention he needs.
