Heartland Animal Shelter
Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane 501 c 3 organization dedicated to finding homeless pets forever homes while educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets in order to help with the pet overpopulation problem.
Heartland's vision is to eliminate euthanasia to any adoptable animal. Heartland asks for your support by spreading the word about the importance of why pets should be spayed or neutered in order to prevent overpopulation of cats and dogs. Together we can make a difference!

- Batman and Robin

Batman and Robin are two bonded 5-year-old brothers. This dynamic duo was adopted as kittens from Heartland but their family had to move and did not want to take them with. They were described as being super affectionate and cuddly in their former home. Batman and Robin are definite lap cats, too! Batman has an attractive orange and white coat and Robin's is cream and white. Two cats are twice the fun, so won't you consider opening your heart to this sweet pair?

Grazie came to us from a kill shelter in southern Illinois and may have had a hard life before coming to Heartland. We are not sure, but Grazie may be blind or have very limited sight in one eye. Also, she was in dire need of dental treatment, and Preiser Animal Hospital performed the work on her teeth.

Purris Hilton is a lovely black feline and just like any movie star, looks all dressed up with the stunning white diamond of fur on her chest. Purris is 4 years young as of April 2011. Just as her name indicates, this little lady loves to purr loudly; pet her and she will even roll over and let you rub her tummy! Volunteers have noticed that once Purris really gets to know you, she'll run over to welcome you.

Hilton is a beautiful boy with the sweetest eyes. He is approximately 3 years old and weighs right around 60 pounds. Hilton is such a gentle giant! He was found as a stray, and Heartland is so happy to help him find his forever home. He is a very smart boy and already knows some commands. Hilton is pretty good on a leash. He loves to jog around the yard with his volunteer friends and is curious to get to know his surroundings.

Squiggles is a wonderful little 2 year old Pug mix! He has the cutest face with the cutest, funniest facial expressions you will ever see. Squiggles is looking for a new home where his new person or people will give him time to adjust and become a perfect pet.

Best friends Summer and Wriggles (Wrigley) had to be surrendered to Heartland due to a family member with asthma. Summer is a 7-year old Puggle and Wriggles is a 6 year old Puggle.
