DuPage County Animal Care & Control is a self-supporting (non taxpayer funded) county department designed to: Prevent and control rabies through bite investigation and rabies registration, enforce state and county animal control and welfare laws, operate a shelter for stray and owner-relinquished non-native animals, adopt unwanted animals to responsible homes, euthanize unwanted animals not suitable for adoption, promote responsible pet-ownership and animal welfare through counseling and law enforcement, rescue animals that are lost, diseased, injured, or in peril, provide public education programs for adults and children.
