Animal Protective League

The Animal Protective League is a non-profit 501C(3) organization dedicated to caring for ill, injured and abused homeless animals and coordinating the adoption of those animals by responsible pet owners. It further is commited to ending companion animal overpopulation by offering high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter services.

APL strives to match animals with carefully screened, loving, permanent owners. All animals leave our shelter spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with all vaccinations. Over 2000 deserving dogs and cats were placed in their forever homes in 2008. APL also has an active group of foster families who provide interim homes until space is available at our shelter.

Darby

I’m Darby and I just love, love, LOVE, other kitties!  I give them Eskimo kisses to show how much I love them.  Then we play together by wrestling or chase and pounce.  I’m not quite as sure how I feel about people, though.  When I was a stray cat, I didn’t have much interaction with people which means I’m a little shy.

I'm Nicky and I'm looking for a second chance at finding my forever home because my family couldn't keep me when they had to move.   Some people might say that I'm talker, but I'm just sharing my astute observations about what's happening with anyone who will listen.

Queenie

I'm Queenie but I'm a queen without a country.  How can I rule if I don't have any subjects?  So I'm looking for my very own place to rule.  I pledge that my rule will be fair and just and I will rule with a velvet paw.  All the royal watchers comment on my beautiful calico fur, of course I'm too modest to mention this myself.  Since I'm royal I live by strict standards of good conduct.

Hello. Im kinda shy and I might talk a bit too much sometimes but thats cause Im just not used to lots of people. Maybe its cause Im also not even two years old!

Since I dont remember ever having a human home Im not sure that I like cats and dogs and kids and stuff but we can discover that together if you give me a chance. Ive found out while Ive been living at the shelter that I have a real talent to jumping into the air to catch balls and things that you throw for meI think I could even be a champion at this someday if youll help me. I am healthy, I love to run, and can jog or just walk with you whenever you like, too. As you can see, Im a black and white dog but once you get up close youll see that underneath my black and white fur theres some even softer light tan fur, all the better to keep me warm, which keeps you warm when Im sitting up close to you. I like the shelter since its so much better than having to find a new place to sleep every night and looking for food every day but its not really a home, which is what Id like.

If you have some space youre not using in your home, Id love to meet you and see if we cant maybe be roommates. Call me at APL or better yet, come meet me SOON!

"Psst, hey you! You look like the athletic type. Do you like to run? I love to run! I really, REALLY love to run! We could be an awesome team! We could go to one of those bike trails and run together. That would be fantastic fun!

I really need to find myself a permanent home with lots of room to play cause Im starting to feel a little claustrophobic here. The APLs been real good to me but they just dont have enough people here to keep me busy. Come on! You KNOW you need an exercise partner! Im perfect for the job. Ill keep you in shape and I wont even complain about it!

Ill even throw in some unconditional love and a few sweet kisses! Just get me out of here!"
